Event Recap|Starlight Moments: “A Date with My Future Self”
The career exploration lecture series “A Date with My Future Self” officially kicked off on April 11!
For the first session, the preparatory school welcomed its inaugural guest speaker—Distinguished Alumnus from the 8th Class and current Superintendent of the Republic of China Military Academy, Major General Yu Chien-Feng. He shared his military journey and life experiences with the younger cadets.
Starting from the preparatory school and advancing all the way to the international military stage, Major General Yu used his career to show us that:
“Training may be tough, but the future will shine.”
Every experience and every badge he earned marks a path of honor forged step by step.
Inside Chung Cheng Hall, cadets listened attentively as he recounted his story.
When he spoke about skydiving from high altitudes, a wave of astonished murmurs swept through the crowd (someone even joked their life flashed before their eyes!).
The badge representing his service with the military delegation in the U.S. further deepened the audience’s respect and imagination for roles in national defense.
Major General Yu emphasized that a military career is not only a test of physical and mental endurance but also a glorious mission—one that involves serving the country and realizing personal value.
In the end, he signed the symbolic “Starlight Plaque,” a token of spiritual legacy, hoping that through every glimmering star, cadets will be inspired to illuminate their future paths and contribute to the everlasting honor of the preparatory school.
The school will continue to invite successful alumni from various fields to return and engage in dialogues with current cadets—
turning this phase of disciplined training into a journey of envisioning the future.
